World Wildlife Day with the MEPs for Wildlife group
On the occasion of World Wildlife Day on 3rd March 2026, WCS EU joined fellow NGOs for a constructive and forward-looking dialogue with the MEPs for Wildlife group at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The exchange provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on shared priorities and identify concrete pathways for the full and effective implementation of the revised EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking. Discussions focused not only on strategic direction but also on the practical steps needed to translate commitments into measurable impact on the ground.
At a time when biodiversity loss continues at an alarming rate and wildlife trafficking remains a persistent and evolving global threat, the meeting underscored the importance of strong political leadership. Encouragingly, participating Members of the European Parliament demonstrated a clear recognition of the urgency of the issue and the need for coordinated, decisive action at EU and international levels.
